ABOUT US

Oban Pride was set up as a voluntary organisation in 2019 by a small group of LGBTQ+ people to bring pride and LGBTQ+ events to Oban.

We held our inaugural Pride in 2019 and became a Scottish Charitable incorporated Organisation (SCIO) in November 2019.

Oban Pride is completely volunteer led and our committee is a group of people made up of representatives of the LGBTQ+ Community and Allies, of all ages, races and abilities.

The purpose of Oban Pride is to promote equality and diversity throughout Oban and surrounding areas, through providing safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to come together to celebrate and promote equal rights throughout Scotland and across the world, while reflecting on our history.

As well as reflecting on the past and celebrating, Oban Pride will also be highlighting the ongoing fight against stigma and inequality.
